Proposed sewerage works for Sandy Ridge Cemetery authorised
***********************************************************
The Chief Executive in Council has authorised a scheme for the proposed sewerage works for Sandy Ridge Cemetery. The notice was gazetted today (August 26).

The sewerage scheme comprises construction of rising mains, gravity sewers, a sewage pumping station, associated manholes and ancillary works including reinstatement of affected carriageways and footpaths. Construction works for the scheme are to be carried out in conjunction with the proposed road works for Sandy Ridge Cemetery by the Civil Engineering and Development Department.

"The scheme will provide a public sewerage system for collecting and conveying sewage arising from the proposed columbarium, crematorium and related facilities for proper treatment and disposal," a spokesman for the Environmental Protection Department said.

Details of the sewerage scheme were published in the Government Gazette on February 27, March 6, December 18 and December 24, 2015.
