North Lantau Highway speed limit to be temporarily reduced from August 27

     The speed limit will be temporarily reduced along the eastbound side of the North Lantau Highway between Tai Ho Wan and Sham Shui Kok and the westbound side of the North Lantau Highway between Tung Chung and Sham Shui Kok from August 27 (Saturday) to October 31 to facilitate construction of the Tuen Mun - Chek Lap Kok Link Southern Connection Viaduct Section.

     Effective from midnight on August 27, the speed limit along the eastbound carriageway of the North Lantau Highway from a point about 4 500 metres east of its junction with Airport Road to about 8 000m east of the same junction and the westbound carriageway of the North Lantau Highway from a point about 8 000m east of its junction with Airport Road to about 300m east of the same junction will be reduced from 110 kilometres per hour to 80km/h in order to enhance the safety of road users and workers. Appropriate traffic signs will be erected to guide motorists.
