Temporary traffic arrangement at Lion Rock Tunnel Kowloon bound this Saturday
*****************************************************************************
The Transport Department (TD) today (August 17) reminded members of the public that to facilitate road repair work at the Kowloon exit of the Lion Rock Tunnel, the slow lane of the tunnel from its toll plaza to the Kowloon exit will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 10pm on August 20 (Saturday) to 4am on August 22 (Monday).

Due to the road closure, the TD anticipates that the traffic at the Lion Rock Tunnel Kowloon bound will become very congested. Motorists should exercise tolerance and patience when passing through the section of road concerned. Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on-site to guide motorists.

Motorists are advised to consider using alternative routes such as Route 8 (Tsing Sha Highway), the Shing Mun Tunnels, Tai Po Road or the Tate's Cairn Tunnel to Kowloon. Commuters taking public transport services are advised to use railway services or bus services via Route 8 (Tsing Sha Highway), the Shing Mun Tunnels, Tai Po Road or the Tate's Cairn Tunnel to Kowloon. They are also advised to plan their journey in advance and allow more travelling time to avoid delay.

The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures whenever necessary. Motorists and the public are advised to stay alert to the latest traffic news on radio and television.
