Government to resume land for construction of a purpose-built complex of residential care homes for the elderly in Kwu Tung North
***************************************************************

The Government will resume private lots with a total area of about 15 000 square metres in Area 29 of Kwu Tung North New Development Area (KTN NDA) to construct a purpose-built complex of residential care homes for the elderly (RCHEs) with targeted completion by 2021.

A notice for land resumption was published in the Gazette today (August 12).

KTN NDA is an important source of housing and land supply for Hong Kong in the medium to long term. To make way for the proposed works and future developments, the existing private RCHEs at Dills Corner Garden (DCG) to the south of the planned Kwu Tung Station and the planned town centre of KTN NDA will need to be cleared. In view of the strategic importance of the project and the unique circumstances of the cluster of private RCHEs at DCG, the Government has put in place a special arrangement to construct a purpose-built RCHE complex at a site near DCG for rehousing eligible affected residents.
