Contractor fined for violation of safety legislation

     Sunarts (Holdings) Engineering Limited was fined $80,000 at Tsuen Wan Magistrates' Courts today (August 11) for violation of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance. The prosecutions were launched by the Labour Department.

     The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on October 5, 2015, at a building renovation site in Tsing Lung Tau. A worker engaged in plank work on a bamboo scaffold at the external wall of a building fell about 4 metres from the scaffold to the ground and sustained fatal injury.
