Closing date of the subscription period of Silver Bond

The first Government Silver Bond series of retail bonds (the Silver Bond) under the programme circular dated May 19, 2016 and the issue circular dated July 15, 2016 is currently open for subscription. As stipulated in the issue circular, the subscription period shall end at 2pm on the closing date (the closing date), which is currently scheduled to be August 3, 2016.
According to the terms of the issue circular, the closing date will not be changed if a tropical cyclone warning signal number 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning signal is hoisted or remains hoisted in Hong Kong today (August 1) and/or tomorrow (August 2).
However, in the event that a tropical cyclone warning signal number 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning signal is hoisted or remains hoisted in Hong Kong at any time from 7am to 2pm on August 3, the closing date will be postponed till 2pm on the next business day in Hong Kong (which is currently expected to be August 4).
