SLW to visit Beijing

     The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, will depart for a three-day visit to Beijing tomorrow morning (July 27).

     While in Beijing, Mr Cheung will call on various ministries and organisations. These include the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the State Administration of Work Safety, the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, the All-China Women's Federation, the China Disabled Persons' Federation, the China Enterprise Confederation and the All-China Federation of Trade Unions. He will also visit local elderly care institutions and exchange views with some Hong Kong youths working in Beijing.

     During Mr Cheung's absence, the Under Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Stephen Sui, will act as Secretary for Labour and Welfare.
