Star and young talent to collaborate for Cantonese opera demonstration performance

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will present a Cantonese opera demonstration performance in August, as part of a Cantonese Opera Summer Camp, to inspire more youngsters to appreciate the art of Cantonese opera.

     Cantonese opera star Yuen Siu-fai together with other Cantonese opera artists and musicians, including Chan Wing-yee, Lai Yiu-wai, Jim Ho-fung, Pui Chun-hin, Wong Po-hyun, Kwok Chun-sing, Cheung Kit-ha, Siu Wing-yee and Yuen Sin-ting, will perform excerpts of well-known repertoire. The programme will include "Finding the Rat" from "Fifteen Strings of Cash", "Kneeling by the Pond" from "Roaring of the Ferocious Wife", "The Hunt" from "War and Never-ending Love" and "Under the Umbrella" from "The Moon Pavilion".

     The demonstration performance of the Cantonese Opera Summer Camp will be held at 7.30pm on August 26 (Friday) at the Theatre of Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre.
