Territory-wide enforcement operation to promote public service vehicles safety

     Police yesterday (July 19) concluded a one-week territory-wide enforcement operation to remind drivers of public service vehicles, including taxis, franchised public buses, public light buses, private light buses and school private light buses, of the importance of road safety.

     This was the latest in an ongoing series of operations conducted by the Police using enforcement to target moving traffic offences.

     The operation resulted in the issue of 87 summonses and 1,311 fixed penalty tickets.

     Among the summonses and fixed penalty tickets issued, 309 were for speeding, 116 for seatbelt-related offences, 55 for using a hand-held mobile phone while driving, and 27 for failing to comply with traffic signals.
