CSSA caseload for June
     The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in June showed a drop of 712 cases, representing a decrease of 0.3 per cent compared with that of May, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (July 20).

     The total CSSA caseload at the end of June stood at 241 136 (see attached table), with a total of 358 383 recipients.

     Analysed by case nature, low-earnings cases and unemployment cases registered month-to-month decreases of 1.5 per cent and 0.9 per cent to 5 783 cases and 15 351 cases respectively.

     Old age cases, permanent disability cases and ill health cases all dropped by 0.2 per cent to 145 392 cases, 17 725 cases and 24 340 cases respectively, while single parent cases decreased by 0.1 per cent to 27 956 cases.
