Appointments to Labour Advisory Board and Standard Working Hours Committee
**************************************************************************
The Government announced today (July 12) the appointment of Mr Jimmy Kwok Chun-wah as a member of the Labour Advisory Board (LAB) representing the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) for the period from July 8, 2016, to December 31, 2016, in place of the late Mr Stanley Lau Chin-ho, who passed away on June 12, 2016.

Mr Kwok is a Deputy Chairman of the General Committee of the FHKI.

The Commissioner for Labour and ex-officio chairman of the LAB, Mr Donald Tong, welcomed the appointment. He said he was confident that Mr Kwok would work in collaboration with all other LAB members to address issues of mutual concern and assist the Government in formulating labour policies and legislation having taken into full account the need to balance the interests of both employees and employers.

Comprising representatives of employees and employers, the LAB advises the Commissioner for Labour on labour matters.

By virtue of his LAB membership, Mr Kwok has also been appointed to the Standard Working Hours Committee as an ex-officio member from July 8, 2016, to November 30, 2016.
