************************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund:

The Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund Awardees Association will present "Endless Journey" to celebrate the Association's establishment and showcase the talents of the past music and dance scholarship awardees of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund.

Under the direction of Yip Wing-sie, an acclaimed conductor and the Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the Association, more than 30 musicians and dance artists will together present an innovative programme of dynamic chamber music and an array of new dance and cross-discipline works. The programme will include Iannis Xenakis' "Okho" (percussion trio and dance), Mendelssohn's "Piano Trio No. 1 in D Minor, Op 49 (First Movement)", Ravel's "La Valse" (piano duo), Daniel Lo's "On the Wings of the Spring Breeze" (flute, dance and video), Rebecca Wong's "Monologue" (excerpt) and Cyrus Hui's "Here It Goes Again" (excerpt), in addition to the premiere of "Endless Journey", a specially commissioned work by Lam Kwan-fai.

The show will be staged at 8pm on August 13 (Saturday) at the Auditorium of the Kwai Tsing Theatre. The 90-minute programme will be performed by past scholarship awardees and other artists, including pianists Melodic Chau, Harmonic Chau and Rachel Cheung; violinist Gallant Ho; cellists Chan Ngat-chau and Eric Yip; flautist Brian Chan; bassoonist Timothy Chan; trumpeter Fung Ka-hing; saxophonist Jacky Leung; percussionists Choy Lap-tak, Lung Heung-wing and Margie Tong; sopranos Colette Lam and Phoebe Tam; composers Lam Kwan-fai, Daniel Lo and Ian Ng; and choreographers and dance artists Frankie Ho, Flora Hon, Cyrus Hui, Kenneth Hui, Liang Yong-lin, Max Lee, Sylvia Lee, Shirley Lok, Yuri Ng, Bruce Wong, Rebecca Wong, Judy Yiu and Gigi Yiu.

The Association was founded in January 2016 by a group of passionate music and dance scholarship awardees of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund, with additional funding support from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. It is a registered charitable organisation with the objectives of promoting and developing music and dance in Hong Kong, fostering a strong connection among all the scholarship recipients and nurturing local young talents. The Association has held a series of activities, including an experience-sharing session, a mentorship programme and concerts with lecture demonstrations, to enrich students' knowledge and experience in musical arts and dance.

A pre-performance education session (to be conducted in Cantonese) will be hosted by Yip Wing-sie at 2.30pm on August 13 to explore selected works from the performance programme to enhance the interaction between the artists and the audience. Ticket holders of the performance are welcome to attend this activity.

Tickets priced at $100 are now available at all URBTIX outlets, on the Internet and by telephone credit card booking.
