CE thanks CPG on agreeing to start discussion on existing notification mechanism
**********************************************************

The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, wrote to the Central People's Government (CPG) last week to reflect the concern of the people in Hong Kong on the incident regarding a bookstore in Causeway Bay and to propose reviewing the existing notification mechanism between Hong Kong and the Mainland.

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government received this morning (June 27) a reply from the CPG that it agreed to start discussion on the existing notification mechanism between the two places.

The Chief Executive expressed gratitude to the CPG for its positive response. The HKSAR Government will liaise with the Central Authorities and relevant departments in the Mainland to work out the follow-up arrangements.
