SLW expresses deep condolences on death of Mr Stanley Lau

     The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-Chung, is saddened by news about the death of Mr Stanley Lau and expressed his deepest condolences to Mr Lau's family.

     Mr Cheung said today (June 12), "Mr Stanley Lau, as a key representative of the trade and industry, had served as a member of the Labour Advisory board (LAB) with devotion and commitment since 2004. Over the years, he contributed significantly to promoting consensus between the employers and employees sides. He took part in the work of Standard Working Hours Committee since 2013, and in the past three years had actively involved in discussion with all stakeholders with a view to working out an appropriate working  hours policy for Hong Kong. His death is a great loss for LAB."

     Mr Cheung also paid tribute to Mr Lau's contribution in promoting Hong Kong's economic development and vocational training for youths.
