NPCSC Chairman visits public rental housing estate (with photos/video)
*********************************************************

The Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPCSC), Mr Zhang Dejiang, accompanied by the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, visited On Tat Estate, a newly built public rental housing (PRH) estate in Kwun Tong, this morning (May 19).

Mr Zhang was briefed by the Permanent Secretary for Transport and Housing (Housing), Mr Stanley Ying, on the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's housing policy and the Anderson Road Public Housing Development through the use of exhibition panels, a model and a video.

Later, Mr Zhang visited two units on the third floor of Oi Tat House to learn more about the design of PRH units.

On Tat Estate has 11 domestic blocks, providing about 9 400 PRH units for around 23 400 residents.
Housing tops the agenda of the current-term Government. The estimated public housing production for the five-year period from 2015-16 to 2019-20 is about 97 100 units, which is more than the figures for each of the past three five-year periods.

The Government will continue to adopt a multi-pronged approach in increasing housing land supply, with a view to achieving the long-term supply target.
