LD holds occupational health public talks

     The Labour Department (LD) will hold a public talk entitled ˇ§Prevention of Lower Limb Disordersˇ¨ on May 19 (Thursday). The talk will introduce symptoms of common lower limb disorders such as plantar fasciitis, varicose veins and osteoarthritis of the knee, their treatment and preventive measures. A demonstration of workplace exercises will be included.

     The talk will be held at 2.30pm in Fanling Occupational Health Clinic, 7/F, Fanling Health Centre, 2 Pik Fung Road, Fanling, New Territories. The LDˇ¦s Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.

     The LD will hold another talk entitled ˇ§Health Hazards of Hot Environment at Workˇ¨ on May 23 (Monday). The talk is designed for people working in hot environments to enhance their awareness of heat stroke prevention. Symptoms of heat stroke, first aid management and preventive measures will be discussed.

     The talk will be held at 3pm in Activity Room 1, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The LDˇ¦s Occupational Hygienist and Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.

     The talks will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free.
