The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Housing Authority:
Ballots were drawn today (May 10) for the joint application exercise of the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA)'s Sale of Home Ownership Scheme (HOS) Flats 2016 and the sale of Hong Kong Housing Society (HS)'s Subsidised Sale Flats (SSF) Project. The Chairman of the HA Subsidised Housing Committee, Mr Stanley Wong, officiated at the ballot drawing.
A total of 2,657 HA HOS flats with saleable area ranging from 34.9 square metres to 53.3 square metres in two developments were offered for sale, namely Ka Shun Court (248 flats) in Sha Tin and Ping Yan Court (2,409 flats) in Ping Shan, Yuen Long. The HS offered 1,027 flats in its SSF development for sale, which included 1,020 flats at Greenhill Villa in Sha Tin and seven flats at Greenview Villa in Tsing Yi for re-sale. In this sale exercise, the income limit for family applicants is $49,000 per month and the asset limit is $1.7 million. The income and asset limits for one-person applicants were set at half of the limits for family applicants and therefore are $24,500 and $850,000 respectively.
Some 52,800 applications were received by the HA, of which about 48,700 were White Forms and about 4,100 were Green Forms. The open ballot conducted today will determine the priority sequence of the last two digits of the application numbers held by applicants. Based on the ballot result, the HA will randomly generate the order of all applicants by computer and will, according to the order, invite applicants to submit supporting documents within a specified period for detailed vetting to determine whether individual applicants meet the eligibility criteria and their final priority. If applicants fail to submit documents within the specified time, their applications will be cancelled.
According to the category and priority sequence of the eligible applicants, the HA will send notifications in batches to invite them to go to the office of the HOS Sales Unit in Lok Fu for flat selection commencing in late July. Sales brochures and price lists of the relevant developments will also be mailed to them for reference.
By applying a discount of 30 per cent to the assessed market values, the selling prices of HOS flats range from the lowest of $1,496,900 in Ping Yan Court to the highest of $3,275,700 in Ka Shun Court.
The ballot results have been uploaded to the dedicated webpage on the HA/Housing Department website(www.housingauthority.gov.hk/mini-site/hos2016/en/ballot.html). The randomly generated order of all applicants will be uploaded to this webpage tomorrow (May 11). It will also be posted from tomorrow onwards at the HA Customer Service Centre in Lok Fu, the estate offices and District Tenancy Management Offices of the HA, the estate offices of the HS, the Public Enquiry Service Centres of the Home Affairs Department and the Sham Shui Po Housing Information Centre. Applicants may also call the HA sales hotline 2712 8000 for enquiries. For enquiries on developments of the HS, applicants should call the HS Sales Hotline 8101 2238.
