************************************************************

The Registration and Electoral Office (REO) announced today (April 28) that since the deadline for voter registration this year, i.e. May 2 (Monday), is a public holiday, the REO will make special arrangements to help the public to submit voter registration forms. The offices of the REO at 10/F, Harbour Centre, 25 Harbour Road, Wan Chai and 13/F, Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Centre, 1 Trademart Drive, Kowloon Bay will be open from 9am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 6pm on May 2 to receive application forms submitted by members of the public by hand. The aforementioned special arrangement is only applicable to May 2 (Monday). The offices of the REO will be closed on April 30 (Saturday) and May 1 (Sunday) as usual.

The REO also reminds eligible persons who wish to register as electors but have yet to do so to submit their applications by the statutory deadline on May 2. Registered electors should also notify the REO by the same deadline of any change in registration particulars such as their residential addresses. The particulars of successful applicants and the updated particulars of registered electors will be included in the final registers of electors for 2016 to be released in July this year.

Apart from the submission of voter registration application forms to the REO offices, members of the public may also submit completed application forms to the REO by post, by fax (2891 1180) or by email (form@reo.gov.hk). Members of the public who have a valid digital certificate can also register as electors online on GovHK (www.osp.reo.gov.hk/index_e.html).

For enquiries, please call the REO hotline at 2891 1001.
