Clinic service on holiday following Labour Day
**********************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesperson today (April 28) reminded the public that 13 general out-patient clinics (see appended list) will continue to provide service on the holiday following the Labour Day next Monday (May 2). Members of the public requiring medical consultations can make advance booking through the telephone system as usual for an appointment.

The Accident and Emergency (A&E) Departments in public hospitals will also operate as usual during the holiday to serve patients with urgent medical needs. The spokesperson said in view of the expected increase in A&E attendance during holidays, priority treatment would be accorded to critical and emergency patients under the established triage system. The queuing time for the semi-urgent and non-urgent patients might comparatively be longer than usual.

The spokesperson appeals to the public for understanding and co-operation while waiting for consultations. Non-urgent patients should consider seeking consultations at general out-patient clinics, private doctors or at the 24-hour clinics of private hospitals.

Public information about holiday clinic service within the territory will be posted at prominent locations in all A&E Departments. Members of the public are also welcome to call the HA Infoline (2882 4866) for service information on holiday general out-patient clinics, or to browse the Primary Care Directory of Department of Health at www.pcdirectory.gov.hk, or to download the mobile App of "Primary Care Directory" to choose the appropriate family medicine doctor and the related clinic service information.
