Extension of term of Standard Working Hours Committee

In response to media enquiries, a Government spokesman today (April 5) said that in light of the fact that the Standard Working Hours Committee (SWHC) needs more time to complete its remaining work, including the second-stage consultation which is expected to commence before the end of this month and the preparation of its report afterwards, the Government has extended the term of the SWHC to November 30, 2016 and re-appointed its current Chairperson and all members to continue to carry out the duties of SWHC. The terms of reference of the SWHC remain unchanged.

The original three-year term of the SWHC is scheduled to expire on April 8, 2016.

Ends/Tuesday, April 5, 2016
