The Hospital Authority (HA) today (March 24) announced the appointment of Dr Lo Su-vui as Cluster Chief Executive of New Territories East Cluster with effect from November 1, 2016, succeeding Dr Hung Chi-tim upon his retirement.

Dr Lo is a seasoned senior executive with rich experience in health service management. He is currently Director of Strategy and Planning at the HA Head Office, a position he has held since September 2007. Prior to this, he had served over the years as Director of Commissioning in Wales, the United Kingdom; Head of the Research Office at the Food and Health Bureau; and Head of Corporate Affairs at the HA Head Office.

In his current position, he has made significant contributions to the planning and implementation of patient care services and the development of major hospital projects. Under his leadership, the HA has formulated its strategic plans, devised the long-term blueprint for hospital development, established an internationally honoured Community Health Call Centre and developed the award-winning Smart Patient Website. Dr Lo was also seconded to take up the role of Cluster Chief Executive of New Territories West Cluster and Hospital Chief Executive of Tuen Mun Hospital from January to June 2014. During this period, he implemented measures to reduce the impacts of the winter surge and minimise access block, and initiated actions to commence the new Operating Theatre Extension Block project.

The HA Chairman, Professor John Leong, and the HA Chief Executive, Dr Leung Pak-yin, congratulated Dr Lo on his new appointment and wished him every success in taking up the new post.

Professor Leong and Dr Leung also expressed appreciation for the contributions of Dr Hung in the public healthcare system for 35 years and in particular for his leadership in the Kowloon Central and New Territories East Clusters.
