CE meets Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania (with photos)

     The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the visiting Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania, Mr Algirdas Butkevičius, at Government House this afternoon (March 22) to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.
     Mr Leung said that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government looks forward to enhancing trade and economic relations with Lithuania. He also said that Hong Kong would play an active role in facilitating the implementation of the country's Belt and Road Initiative. Noting that Lithuania is along the Belt and Road, he said that the two sides could enhance economic and trade co-operation to tap the vast development opportunities brought about by the Initiative.

     Mr Leung also welcomed Lithuanian enterprises to establish a presence in Hong Kong to leverage on the city's role as the "super-connector" to open up business opportunities in the Mainland of China and across Asia.
