The Government announced today (March 18) the re-appointment of three incumbent members to the Community Investment and Inclusion Fund (CIIF) Committee.
The three members are Mr Erwin Steve Huang, Ms Lam Pik-chu and Dr Wingco Lo Kam-wing. The re-appointments are for a term of two years with effect from April 1, 2016.
The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, welcomed the re-appointments. He said, "I am most pleased to see a good mix of Committee members from different sectors. This reflects the cross-sectoral collaboration that the Committee seeks to promote. Since its establishment, members of the CIIF Committee have been sparing no effort to promote the implementation of diversified social capital development projects in the community, collaboration between the public and different sectors, and the building of a cross-sectoral collaborative platform and mutual help network."
The CIIF was established in 2002 to promote social capital development through encouraging mutual support in the neighbourhood, community participation and cross-sectoral partnership. The CIIF Committee is tasked to advise the Government on the development of social capital in Hong Kong and to vet applications for funding under the CIIF.
