Hong Kong Observatory Open Day to be held this weekend

     The annual Open Day of Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) will take place on March 19 (Saturday) and March 20 (Sunday).

     This year's Open Day is one of the highlight events of the "Appreciate Hong Kong" campaign. With the theme of 2016 World Meteorological Day - "Hotter, Drier, WetterˇEFace the Future", the exhibitions at the Open Day will focus on climate change to inform the public on how the HKO applies the latest technologies to provide various services to respond to the challenges brought by global warming and extreme weather.

     Visitors will also be able to learn about how TV weather programmes are produced, join the fun in the game booths, and have the chance to take photographs with the Director of the HKO and the HKO Mascot, Dr Tin.

11.30am to 4.30pm

March 20 (Sunday)
10am to 4.30pm

     As a large number of visitors is expected, a one-way flow will be implemented. Visitors should enter via the front gate on Nathan Road and exit at the back gate on Observatory Road. According to past experience, the afternoon sessions are usually more crowded. Visitors are advised to come during the morning sessions.
