CE accepts Starry Lee's resignation and appoints Ip Kwok-him as ExCo member

     The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, announced today (March 17) his acceptance of the resignation of Ms Starry Lee from the Executive Council (ExCo) and the appointment of Mr Ip Kwok-him to ExCo, with immediate effect.  

     The Chief Executive expressed his gratitude to Ms Lee for her contribution and valuable advice on policy-making since she joined ExCo in July 2012.   

     The Chief Executive said, "Mr Ip has rich experience in the Legislative Council, public service as well as in district work.  I am confident that he will provide wise counsel in policy-making after joining ExCo."

     Following is the biographical note of Mr Ip:

     Aged 64. Mr Ip is currently a Legislative Council member, a Hong Kong Deputy to the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, the Convenor of Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong Legislative Council Caucus and a non-executive director of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority Board.  He used to be a member of the Central and Western District Council, Hong Kong Housing Authority, Transport Advisory Committee and Governing Committee of the Beat Drugs Fund Association.  Mr Ip was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star in 2004.
