Attempted murder and shop theft case in Yau Ma Tei reclassified as murder and shop theft

     Police today (March 14) reclassified an attempted murder and shop theft case happened in Yau Ma Tei on March 8 as murder and shop theft.

     About 6.45pm on March 8, Police received a report that some goods of a shop on Pitt Street, Yau Ma Tei were stolen. Police found a 38-year-old man sustaining injury to his chest at scene. The man was sent to Kwong Wah Hospital in unconscious state and was then transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He was certified dead this afternoon. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.

     Upon initial investigation, a 32-year-old man was arrested on March 9 in Yau Ma Tei in suspected connection with the case. He was holding charged and appeared before Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts on March 12.
