In response to media enquiries about the weather situation over Tolo Harbour during the light aircraft accident this afternoon (February 27), the spokesman for the Hong Kong Obervatory said as follows:
Based on available information, the light aircraft accident over Tolo Harbour today occurred at about 2.20pm. At that time, the Hong Kong Observatory's automatic weather station at Tai Po Kau recorded light winds. The 10-minute mean wind speed was about 9 kilometres per hour while the maximum gust was about 12 kilometres per hour. The wind direction was from the east. The weather over the Tolo Harbour at that time was fine with visibility of over 10 kilometres.
