In response to the riot in Mong Kok, the Police Force established a review committee aiming to enhance the safety and professional competency of police officers in execution of their duties. The committee is chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Management), Mr Chau Kwok-leung, and members include representatives of the four staff associations.
The committee held its first meeting today (February 19). During the meeting, Mr Chau listened to the views of the representatives of the four associations on the review committee. The terms of reference of the committee were promulgated.
Meanwhile, three sub-committees, each hosted by an Assistant Commissioner of Police, were also established to review "operations", "arms, equipment and training" and "support".
