The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the visiting Minister for Financial Markets and Consumer Affairs and Deputy Minister for Finance of Sweden, Mr Per Bolund, who was a guest speaker of the Asian Financial Forum, at the Chief Executive's Office this afternoon (January 19) to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.
Mr Leung said that Hong Kong and Sweden enjoy increasingly closer ties in various aspects, and said that Hong Kong, being an international metropolis, can act as the "super-connector" in linking Sweden to the markets both in the Mainland of China and across Asia. He also encouraged more Swedish enterprises to set up business and invest in the city.
Mr Leung expressed the hope that the two places would continue to strengthen co-operation and exchanges in areas such as finance as well as innovation and technology, and promote the development of financial technologies together to bring about mutual benefits.
