Police appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Cheung Sha Wan

     Police today (January 6) appealed to the public for information on a fatal traffic accident in Cheung Sha Wan on December 8, 2015 in which an 83-year-old man died.

     About 7.36am that day, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by a 40-year-old man was travelling along westbound Tonkin Street, it reportedly knocked down the 83-year-old male cyclist who was traveling along southbound Tung Chau Street.

     The male rider sustaining head and hands injuries was rushed to Caritas Medical Hospital in conscious state and was transferred to Princess Margaret Hospital for medical treatment. He was certified dead at 23.36pm on December 28.

     The MGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death today. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in mid-February.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are underway.
