Under the "Appreciate Hong Kong" Campaign, all museums of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department will offer one month of free admission starting tomorrow (January 1). The Campaign aims to encourage more visits to the museums, where experiences of creativity, enjoyment and inspiration await.
The museums with free admission are the Hong Kong Museum of History, the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, the Hong Kong Science Museum, the Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum, the Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence, the Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware, the Hong Kong Railway Museum, the Sam Tung Uk Museum, the Sheung Yiu Folk Museum, the Law Uk Folk Museum (where the Hakka House will be open from January 8), the Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum, the Fireboat Alexander Grantham Exhibition Gallery, Oi!, the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre, the Hong Kong Film Archive (except for the Cinema), the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre and the Ping Shan Tang Clan Gallery.
As the Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Hong Kong Space Museum are now closed for renovation work, the two museums will not be open to the public in January.
In January, no tickets are required for entry to the museums and visitors are requested to queue for admission.
For details, please visit the websites of the individual museums.
