Hong Kong Police College to open on January 10

     The Hong Kong Police College will organise an open day to celebrate its 10th anniversary on January 10 (Sunday). Visitors will get the opportunity to have better understanding of training and work of the Police.
 
     An array of fun-filled activities will be held including performance and demonstrations staged by Special Duties Unit (popularly known as the Flying Tiger Squad), Police Dog Unit and Police Band.
 
     Besides, there will be display of Police equipment and special vehicles as well as exhibition and game booths mounted by various Police units, arts and sports clubs. Visitors may also have the chance to try laser gun shooting and take photos with police officers wearing different old uniforms.
 
     The College, which is located at 18 Ocean Park Road, Aberdeen, will be opened in two sessions from 9am to 12pm and from 1pm to 4pm. Same programmes will be run in the two sessions. Admission ticket is required for entrance. Visitors are advised to use public transport as no parking space will be provided. The event will be cancelled if Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm Signal is hoisted and announcement will be made separately.
 
     Tickets have been distributed to youth groups, the elderly and families from the under-privileged through different channels. A total of 2,000 admission tickets will be distributed free to members of the public on a first-come, first-served basis from 9am to 12pm this Saturday (January 2) outside the Report Room of Wanchai Police Station and the main entrance of Sham Shui Po Police Station.
