EMSD urges public to suspend use of one model of adaptor

     The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) today (December 28) urged the public to suspend use of one model of adaptor for safety reasons.

     Distributed by the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions earlier on, the product is marked with the characters "工聯會", which is the abbreviation of the Chinese name of the federation.

     The EMSD followed up on recent related media reports and found that the adaptor may expose live metal parts posing a potential electrical hazard to users.

     The department contacted the federation immediately for follow-up action. The federation is now arranging a recall. Please call its hotline (3652 5700) for details.
