Fatal traffic accident in Airport

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Airport this evening (December 25) in which a 66-year-old man was killed.
     About 6.50pm, a taxi driven by a 66-year-old man was travelling along a tunnel on Cheong Hong Road downslope towards Cheong Hing Road. When approaching a bend, it reportedly lost control and rammed against a wall.
     The taxi driver was trapped inside the compartment and rescued by firemen. Sustaining head and leg injuries, he was rushed to North Lantau Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 8.09pm. Four passengers, including a 42-year-old man, a 41-year-old woman, a 10-year-old boy and a 1-year-old girl, were injured and sent to North Lantau Hospital for medical treatment in conscious state.
     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are under way.
