CSSA caseload for November

     The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in November showed a drop of 1 047 cases, representing a decrease of 0.4 per cent compared to that of October, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (December 23).

     The total CSSA caseload at the end of November stood at 245 045 (see attached table), with a total of 365 668 recipients.

     Analysed by case nature, unemployment cases registered a month-to-month decrease of 2.0 per cent to 16 646 cases, and low-earnings and single parent cases dropped by 1.9 per cent and 0.7 per cent to 6 457 cases and 28 541 cases respectively. Ill health and permanent disability cases both showed a decrease of 0.4 per cent to 24 591 cases and 17 962 cases respectively. Old age cases dropped by 0.1 per cent to 146 262 cases.
