Award-winning online logistics startup sets up regional base in Hong Kong

Easyship Fulfilment Services opened an office in Hong Kong today (December 10), taking a step further in capturing the fast-growing demand for logistics services amid the buoyant e-commerce market in Mainland China and across Asia.

Awarded as the best startup in Asia by Tech in Asia, Easyship is an online logistics platform that offers e-retailers a single end-to-end solution including pick-up, packing, shipping, and tracking. Easyship helps clients obtain a complete cost comparison between available couriers. Having completed a programme at a local startup accelerator, Easyship aims at leveraging Hong Kong's network of clients, suppliers and investors.

Co-founder Mr Ceyrac Augustin said, "Our main targets are online traders who sell on Ebay, Amazon, Alibaba and others. They receive orders from all over the world every day and outsource the shipping process to specialists like us to try to save time and money. As Hong Kong is one the biggest trading hubs in the world and plays an important role in the e-commerce world, we decided to set up in the city to take advantage of its strong logistics infrastructure and efficiency.

"On top of being a logistics hub, Hong Kong is also an important financial hub, which makes our financing easier. Hong Kong is also one of the most entrepreneurial-friendly places, so we managed to register our company in less than a day."

Speaking at Easyshipˇ¦s opening ceremony, the Director-General of Investment Promotion, Dr Simon Galpin, said, "We are happy to see that Easyship has grown from an incubatee to a sophisticated startup. It shows people's confidence in Hong Kong's easy business environment as well as our fast-growing startup ecosystem."
