Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Lok Ma Chau this morning (December 5) in which a 56-year-old man was killed.
At about 2am, a taxi driven by a 56-year-old man was travelling along San Tin Highway towards Sheung Shui. When approaching Shek Wu Wai, the taxi reportedly stopped due to mechanical failure. During which it was suspected that an unknown goods vehicle collided with the taxi. After the impact, the unknown goods vehicle left the scene.
Sustaining serious multiple injuries, the man was rushed to the North District Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 2.43am.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are underway.
