The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, and the Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Mr Nicholas W Yang, met the media at the ground floor lobby of the Office of the Chief Executive at Tamar today (November 20). Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Innovation and Technology:

Reporter: Mr Yang, so within such a short term, do you think co-ordination is the only thing you can do in such a short time? Are there any concrete policies coming, or like a timetable?

Secretary for Innovation and Technology: I understand you're trying to set a timetable, but remember co-ordination means, first of all, you have to get everybody to have agreement, consensus to move ahead. Only when you have that, then you have the so-called priority setting. And once you set a priority, then we can focus our effort to accomplish all we want to do. I think this is the whole entire purpose of setting up a bureau, because with a clear, holistic and also macro policy, we can have consensus in the key item and then push ahead.
