The Government today (November 20) announced the appointment of three new members and the re-appointment of seven incumbent members to the Social Welfare Advisory Committee (SWAC) for a term of two years with effect from December 1.
The three new members are Ms Anthea Lo Wing-sze, Ms Cindy Pun Siu-fung and Dr Janice Tsang Wing-hang.
Ms Lo is Director of M1 Hotel and Menswinton Limited. She is also a member of the Award Council of the Hong Kong Award for Young People, the Finance and Management Working Group of Chinese Temples Committee and the Council of Lingnan University.
Ms Pun is General Secretary of the Tsung Tsin Mission of Hong Kong Social Service. She is also a member of the Evangelical School Development Incorporation Limited, the Incorporated Management Committee of Carmel Alison Lam Foundation Secondary School and the Incorporated Management Committee of Carmel Pak U Secondary School.
Dr Tsang is Assistant Dean (Alumni Relations) of the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine and Clinical Assistant Professor of the Department of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong. She is also Vice President of the Hong Kong Women Doctors Association.
The seven re-appointed members are Mr Ip Wai-ming, Mr Hansen Lee Hong-kong, Mr Edmond Lee Man-bun, Dr Annissa Lui Wai-ling, Mr Daryl Ng Win-kong, Professor Steven Ngai Sek-yum and Dr Loretta Yam Yin-chun.
The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, welcomed the appointments and thanked the three outgoing members, Mr Jovy Suen Leung-kwong, Dr Sandra Tsang Kit-man and Mr Michael Wong Yick-kam, for their valuable contributions to the SWAC.
The SWAC reviews social welfare services from time to time and advises the Government on all matters of social welfare policy.
