Further extension of customs facilitation measures for wine entering Mainland through Hong Kong
************************************************************

The customs facilitation measures exclusive for wine entering the Mainland through Hong Kong have been extended from designated ports in Guangzhou and Shenzhen to all ports in the Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou and Shenzhen customs regions.

The facilitation measures have been enhanced since September 2014. Hong Kong registered wine exporters, who submit advance wine consignment information online, may enjoy instant customs clearance at the Mainland ports concerned.

"This facilitation measure, exclusive to Hong Kong, underlines Hong Kong's position as a wine hub. Time and costs would be saved as wine re-exported from Hong Kong can get instant clearance at designated Mainland ports. The extension of the measures from Guangzhou and Shenzhen to the customs regions of Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin will help wine from all over the world enter the northern China market and consolidate there," the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, said today (November 5).

Details of the facilitation measures can be found on the Government's wine portal (wine.gov.hk) and the website on the facilitation measures (www.customs.gov.hk/en/trade_facilitation/wine/index.html).

Hong Kong Customs and the Trade and Industry Department have also set up enquiry hotlines (Tel: 3759 2505 and 3403 6426 respectively).
