*********************************************************

Korean street-dance sensation Jinjo Crew, the first group of its type to win five major international competitions, will transpose award-winning battle routines into the scorching stage show "Ablaze!" in Hong Kong. The group will amaze audience members with the blistering skills of premier B-boys, or breakdancers, in November.

In little more than a decade, Seoul has developed into a hip-hop powerhouse, with the super-sharp Jinjo Crew surging to the top, winning numerous national and international awards. The group has captivated the breakdance scene with stunning displays of agility, original Korean moves and breathtakingly intricate teamwork.

Its upcoming programme features different works including the award-winning performances "TA" and "Invader". "TA", blending Korean traditional music with street dance, displays a modern reinterpretation of cultural trends and harmony between the old and the new. "Invader", a creative piece danced with jackets, features powerful and exciting sounds.

During the performances, audiences will have a chance to learn a simple yet interesting routine from Jinjo Crew members and perform with them on stage.

Jinjo Crew was established by brothers Skim and Wing in 2001. The name Jinjo translates as "Rising Fire", and in recent years the group has appeared in numerous cultural exchange events organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea and the Korea Tourism Organization. It has also judged many international B-boy competitions around the world. The group consists of 14 B-boys and one beatboxer.

"Ablaze!" is one of the programmes of the World Cultures Festival - A Decade of Exquisite Arts. It will be held at 8pm on November 6 and 7 at the Ko Shan Theatre New Wing Auditorium.

Tickets priced at $130, $200 and $280 are now available at URBTIX. Half-price tickets are available for full-time students, senior citizens aged 60 and above, people with disabilities and their minders, and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients. Other booking discounts of up to 20 per cent are available.

A meet-the-artist session will be held after the performance on November 6. Jinjo Crew will also face challenges in "Battle with Local B-boys" on November 7 at 4pm to 5pm at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza. Admission is free.

Organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the World Cultures Festival 2015 - A Decade of Exquisite Arts is running from October 16 to November 15, featuring an array of artistic gems representing rich and diverse cultures from around the globe in celebration of the festival's 10th anniversary.
