Police today (October 30) appealed to the public for information on a fatal traffic accident in Cheung Sha Wan on October 15 in which a 79-year-old woman died.
About 12.15 pm on that day, a light goods vehicle driven by a 41-year-old man was travelling along the east bound of Castle Peak Road. When reaching Kwong Cheung Street, it reportedly knocked down the 79-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining head injuries, the pedestrian was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in conscious state, but was certified dead at 3.44pm on October 16.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in mid-November.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are underway.
