CS to visit Beijing and Guangdong

     The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, will leave for Beijing upon her return to Hong Kong from Australia on Saturday (September 19) to attend the inauguration of the International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (IIC) International Training Centre for Conservation jointly established by the IIC and the Palace Museum and the launch of its first training programme on Sunday (September 20). She will then travel to Guangdong for the 2015 Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Co-operation Forum and the Qingyuan Investment and Development Summit to be held on Monday morning (September 21).

     At the invitation of the Palace Museum, Mrs Lam will officiate at the inauguration of the IIC International Training Centre for Conservation and the launch of its first training programme. She will also take the opportunity to congratulate the Palace Museum on its 90th anniversary.

     The Palace Museum and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) have been working closely to promote heritage conservation and exhibition.  The two organisations co-presented several large-scale exhibitions and sent staff for mutual exchange. During the visit, Mrs Lam will witness the signing of a letter of intent on staff development between the LCSD and the Palace Museum to further promote the partnership between these two organisations.

     Mrs Lam will then head for Guangzhou for the 2015 Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Co-operation Forum and the Qingyuan Investment and Development Summit to be held in Qingyuan on Monday morning. She will return to Hong Kong after the event.

     During her absence, the Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, will act as Chief Secretary for Administration.
