The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, will visit Australia at the invitation of the Australian Government from September 13 to 19.
During her stay in Melbourne, Mrs Lam will call on senior officials, visit an urban renewal district and an education institution and speak at a business luncheon.
On September 15, she will proceed to Canberra where she will meet with senior officials at the federal level and meet with Members of Parliament before moving on to Sydney on September 16.
In Sydney, Mrs Lam will call on senior officials, officiate at the premiere performance of "The Legend of Mulan" by the Hong Kong Dance Company, deliver a speech at a business dinner, meet with a local think tank and a cultural organisation, receive a briefing on the infrastructure development plan in Sydney and visit an urban renewal project. She will also meet with Hong Kong people working and studying in Australia.
Mrs Lam will depart for Hong Kong in the morning on September 19. During her absence, the Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, will act as Chief Secretary for Administration.
