Homicide and suicide in Ma On Shan

     Police are investigating a homicide and suicide case in Ma On Shan yesterday (September 5) in which a 52-year-old man and his two sons, aged ten and eight, certified dead.

     About 3.35pm yesterday, a 38-year-old woman made a report to the Police that she was unable to contact her husband and two sons and no one answer the door at the trio¡¦s residence in Kam Nga House, Kam Ying Court.

     Police sped to the scene and found the 52-year-old husband and the two sons, aged ten and eight, of the woman lying unconsciously in the unit. A basin with burnt charcoal was found nearby.

     The man and the two boys were certified dead at scene.

     Upon initial investigations, Police suspected that the 52-year-old man committed suicide with his 8-year-old son by burning charcoal after killing his 10-year-old son at an earlier time.

     Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of their deaths.

     Active investigations by the District Crime Squad of Sha Tin District are under way.
