SCED meets senior Australian officials (with photos)

     The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, today (August 12, Canberra time) met with Australian government senior officials in Canberra to promote Hong Kong and foster closer economic relations with Australia.

     Mr So had meetings with the Minister for Communications, Mr Malcolm Turnbull; the Minister for Small Business, Mr Bruce Billson; and the Minister for Trade and Investment, Mr Andrew Robb, at Parliament House. During the meetings, Mr So discussed with them how Hong Kong and Australia can collaborate on the "One Belt, One Road" initiatives as well as matters relating to communications, trade and investment.

     Mr So also attended a lunch with the Hong Kong Friendship Group of the Australian Parliament, and exchanged views with the parliamentary members on trade and economic co-operation between Hong Kong and Australia.

     Mr So will depart for Adelaide in the evening, where he will meet with the wine associations and visit a winery in South Australia tomorrow (August 13).
