Road safety campaign to promote safe cycling

     Police conducted a territory-wide campaign between July 29 and August 4 to raise public awareness of cycling safety.

     Police targeted the common cycling offences including failing to comply with traffic signs or road markings, riding on the pavement or walking on the cycle tracks. Enforcement action resulted in 124 verbal warnings and the issue of 838 summonses to persons who committed offences.

     Cyclists are reminded to comply with Road Traffic Ordinance. Offenders committing cycling offences will be prosecuted.
