Review committee of Housing Authority meets on PRH estate water supply

The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Housing Authority:

     The Review Committee on Quality Assurance Issues Relating to Fresh Water Supply of Public Housing Estates of the Hong Kong Housing Authority held its first meeting today (July 30).

     The committee chairman, Mr Cheung Tat-tong, said the committee would comprehensively review the present arrangements for quality control and monitoring in relation to the installation of fresh water supply systems in public housing estates.

     Members of the committee were today given a brief introduction by the Housing Department on the existing quality control and monitoring mechanism relating to fresh water supply systems in public housing estates. The committee will then review in detail the current mechanism stage by stage in the future meetings.
 
     Mr Cheung expected the committee to complete its study in three to five months' time.

     The committee will hold its next meeting on August 6.
