CSSA caseload for June

     The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in June showed a drop of 428 cases, representing a decrease of 0.2 per cent compared to that of May, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (July 22).

     The total CSSA caseload at the end of June stood at 248 916 (see attached table), with a total of 376 572 recipients.

     Analysed by case nature, low-earnings cases registered a month-to-month decrease of 0.9 per cent to 7 012 cases; unemployment cases also dropped by 0.6 per cent to 17 505 cases. Old age cases and permanent disability cases both registered month-to-month decreases of 0.2 per cent, to 147 362 cases and 18 136 cases respectively.

     Ill health cases and single parent cases showed slight increases of 0.2 per cent and 0.3 per cent to 24 704 cases and 29 359 cases respectively.
