In July 1975, the City Museum and Art Gallery was split into the Hong Kong Museum of History and the Hong Kong Museum of Art. Located in Star House, Tsim Sha Tsui when it was established, the Museum of History was temporarily accommodated in Kowloon Park in 1983 and moved to its present premises at 100 Chatham Road South, Tsim Sha Tsui in July 1998.
